In August 2019, IFAW upgraded four of the six security bases in the community lands. These bases house the community wildlife rangers that protect animals which roam within community lands, known as group ranches of which OOGR is the largest in Amboseli – covering 147,000 hectares and almost completely surrounds the Amboseli National Park .
